This fish can be as big as 12 inches, It's the largest of frogfishes. They can gradually change shades and colors, but the juveniles are typically the brightest yellow.
Many species can change color; some are covered with other organisms such as algae or hydrozoa. In keeping with this camouflage,
frogfishes typically move slowly, lying in wait for prey, and then striking extremely rapidly, in as little as 6 ms.
With it's masked eyes, the racoon butterflyfish obviously gets its name from the similarity of the racoon. It's may be the only nocturnal butterfly fish and is bright yellow during the day, but brown at night.
